poem: prayer – hekate

and darkness walks

where darkness falls; splitting

light from horizon, and horizon from sky.

speak, mothers, speak to daughters loved

and lost, leering at Death from their wicker-cradles / or keep, to silence.

on our bowed heads, be it.
